Paris, somewhere between the last bars of night and the first splash of morning light—leopard-patterned canvas pressed and stitched in the atelier, the Cassandre logo plaque set into tan leather by hand. Yves Saint Laurent’s late-1980s crossbody bags were built for the city’s pace, and this piece carries that mood: a subtle beige and slate-grey monogram canvas, the front flap anchored by a gold-tone YSL emblem, equally at home on any wardrobe.
The silhouette is compact but substantial, with coated canvas trimmed in caramel leather and an adjustable strap for crossbody or shoulder wear. A magnetic snap closure secures the flap; inside, a clean beige fabric lining reveals a zip pocket and a slip compartment for daily order. The original dust bag is included.
This bag dates to the founder’s era—c. late 1980s to early 1990s—signalled by the classic Cassandre logo set into the front plaque and the distinctive Mombasa-leopard monogram canvas, echoing the unapologetic glamour Saint Laurent brought to the Rive Gauche boutiques. Light surface wear marks the leather trim, but overall structure and print remain sharp.
