Condition Very Good

Paris, c. 1980: the studio was turning out jewelry that caught the light in sculptural planes, just as this Givenchy collar does—its slim chain drawing close to the neck, anchored by a polished, curved centre element that sits like a quiet accent at the collarbone. The proportions are unmistakable: a narrow band skimming the throat, the front defined by a single architectural arc.

Constructed in gold-tone metal with a seamless, smooth finish, the necklace closes with a discreet geometric clasp at the nape. The reverse is signed with the GIVENCHY oval cartouche stamp, typical of the house’s late 1970s to early 1980s costume jewelry. No visible logo appears on the exterior, and the interior is left unlined.

This piece belongs to the Hubert de Givenchy era, when the house moved into modernist forms—here, the clean geometry and bright gold-tone surface channel the mood of the period. Condition is very good, with minor surface scratches to the metal and the clasp fully functional.
