Vintage Celine Bifold Wallet Late 1980s Black Leather

Gold-tone corner protectors punctuate the edges of jet black smooth leather, their crisp geometry catching the light on a wallet otherwise free of exterior branding. The only mark is a blind-embossed roundel set low on the front, bearing Céline’s horse-carriage Sulky motif — a detail rendered without text, characteristic of the house’s late 1980s accessory design.

This is Céline from the Vipiana era, when the Paris house catered to a clientele who wanted equestrian codes in a form more discreet than Hermès, but with the same rigour.
