Tokyo, mid-2010s: the Pleats Please studio is lit by crisp afternoon sun, sharp folds catching the light in endless repeat. This Issey Miyake wrap skirt is cut in deep burgundy with tonal vertical stripes, the entire surface pressed into micro-pleats that flex and contract with movement—a construction technique Miyake refined in his own atelier. The silhouette is fluid, easily draped and wrapped at the waist without fastenings or hardware.

Crafted from 100% polyester, the fabric’s pleats hold their form, creating shifting lines along the body. There is no visible logo or external branding; the piece relies entirely on form and texture, its identity coded in the pleatwork itself. No interior details are visible; the skirt is unlined and comes without accessories.

Produced during the Issey Miyake era (1971–2022), this skirt bears the modern sans-serif label and PP74 code found on mid-2010s Pleats Please garments. Condition is excellent, with no visible wear or marks to the pleated surface.
