Vintage Celine Macadam Canvas Flap Clutch Late 1980s Navy

A field of navy Macadam canvas wraps this Celine flap clutch, the interlocking ‘C’ motif rendered in a tight repeat across every surface. A small rectangular gold-tone plaque sits low on the front edge, the house name incised in block capitals just above the seam. The flap secures with a dark-tone push-lock clasp, opening to reveal matching blue leather lining with one zipped and one slip pocket inside.

The silhouette is soft but structured, designed for handheld or underarm carry. Edges are finished in smooth navy leather trim, and the interior is free from visible logo stamps, keeping the focus on the external print and hardware. No strap attachments are present; the piece is unlined apart from the main leather compartment.

Macadam canvas — Céline’s answer to the monogram arms race of the 1970s–90s — marks this as a product of the Vipiana era.
