Vintage Comme des Garçons Clear PVC Tote Bag Late 2010s

Light refracts through the oversized clear PVC body, every edge and seam rendered transparent but assertive in scale. Twin sculpted handles in matching clear PVC arc above the open top, merging function and concept in a single gesture.

Material is sharply cut, with no visible hardware or interior lining — only the black, widely spaced COMME des GARÇONS logo printed directly onto the surface, stark against the absence of colour. Carry it by hand; the structure holds its monumental proportions even empty.

Emerging from Rei Kawakubo’s late 2010s period, when the house’s retail experiments at Dover Street Market made the everyday object uncanny, this tote embodies the line between the utilitarian and the conceptual. Made in Japan.
