Silver block letters—“COMME des GARÇONS”—float over a tan PVC shell, the surface holding a distinctly paper-like texture that catches light differently with every fold. Twin handles in matching PVC rise from reinforced bases, their edges showing only the faintest softening at the points of contact. The silhouette is crisp and rectangular, cut deep enough to carry documents, a laptop, or whatever daily cargo the city demands.
This construction—PVC laminated over a paper substrate—marks the late 2010s and early 2020s, when Comme des Garçons released a run of clear and colored shopper totes with bold, screen-printed logos. The stark sans-serif type, unembellished and direct, is classic Rei Kawakubo: a refusal of ornament, insisting on surface and form.
Inside, a beige fabric lining offers a single slip pocket for small essentials. Silver-tone hardware secures the handles at each base. No internal label or accessories are present. The bag remains in very good condition, with light wear visible at the handles and base corners and the structure holding firm.
