Vintage Celine Triomphe Leather Flap Clutch c. 1992 Black

The silver-tone snap closure sets off a broad expanse of smooth black leather, the surface running clean to the edges and broken only by Céline’s embossed Triomphe crest on the front flap. Minimal seamwork and a flat silhouette give the piece a disciplined shape, made for hand or underarm carry.

This clutch dates to circa 1992, the Céline Vipiana era, when the Triomphe motif—sketched by Vipiana herself after a taxi grazed the Arc de Triomphe’s chain barrier—became the house’s most recognisable signature. The accented ‘Céline Paris’ stamp and classic hardware details place this firmly in the early 1990s, a period when the brand’s bags were staples of Paris’s 16th arrondissement.

Inside, black fabric lining conceals a single zip pocket and two slip compartments for essentials. Condition is very good: minor scratches and light creasing visible on the leather, with hardware retaining its sheen. No accessories are included.
