Vintage Miu Miu Matelassé Quilted Leather Bifold Wallet c. 2006–2015 Red

Deep red matelassé leather, quilted in a dense diamond pattern, forms the exterior of this Miu Miu bifold wallet. The front is set with a gold-tone ‘MIU MIU’ serif logo plate—precisely rendered and set low on the fold—while a matching gold-tone zipper pull secures the outer pocket. The silhouette remains slim but substantial, with gently rounded edges and a softly padded hand.

The matelassé technique, with its signature folded nappa, became a Miu Miu signature in the 2000s—here, it’s unmistakable, paired with hardware that reflects the label’s late-2000s through early-2010s small leather goods. Miuccia Prada’s direction is visible in the interplay between saturated colour and tactility: the quilted surface feels animated, never static.
