Rust red cotton canvas panels meet at crisp seams, broken only by slender dark brown stripes running vertically down each face. The silhouette is simple and upright, anchored by double handles and finished with a silver-tone snap at the open top—no logo, no ornament, just the architecture of the bag itself. The base is reinforced, and the construction feels both sturdy and unforced, with a matching rust red lining visible at every edge.
This tote traces directly to Hermès’ Fourre-Tout line of the late 1990s to early 2000s—a period when Martin Margiela was quietly reshaping the house’s visual language. The absence of overt branding and the precise, utilitarian tailoring are hallmarks of Margiela’s Hermès years, when luxury was found in the weight of canvas and the placement of a seam rather than any visible signature.
Inside, the rust red lining conceals a zip pocket and a slip compartment along one side, each edge neatly bound. The original box is included. Condition is very good, with only minimal signs of handling to the fabric and hardware; edges remain sharp, and the structure holds cleanly in the hand.
