Aoyama’s concrete grid gave way to glass storefronts and fluorescent light, the silver "COMME des GARÇONS" stamped clean against translucent PVC. Inside the shop, this tote’s crinkled beige paper core caught the reflection — a studio experiment repurposed for the street, its construction as deliberate as the city it comes from. The silhouette is upright and generously scaled, the kraft paper sheathed in clear PVC with tubular handles stitched and sealed in matching film.
A single silver-tone press-stud secures the open top, while the interior is lined in beige cotton with a slip pocket for easy access to small essentials. Designed for handheld carry, every edge is sharply finished, the structure holding its form with only minor creasing and faint marks at the trim.
Born from Rei Kawakubo’s ongoing project of reimagining the everyday, this tote belongs to the late 2010s—an era when Comme des Garçons’ conceptual vocabulary found new expression in materials like this: humble, industrial, and unmistakably of Tokyo. No visible label inside; the exterior silver logo is the only sign.
