Vintage Celine Sulky Horse Carriage Buckle Belt Late 1970s Black Gold

A sculpted gold-tone buckle forms the centrepiece here, cast with Celine's horse and carriage Sulky motif in crisp relief and finished with a classic serif 'CELINE' engraving across the frame. The buckle carries a moderate vintage patina, its edges catching the light against a jet black leather strap. The strap itself is a later replacement, fitted to the original hardware and backed in smooth beige leather on the reverse.

No visible logo accents the exterior—attention stays on the equestrian buckle, which fastens cleanly at the waist. The interior is unlined save for the beige leather backing, and no serial or sizing is present along the strap. 'MADE IN ITALY' is stamped to the reverse of the buckle.

This buckle design appeared during the Céline Vipiana era, c. late 1970s–1980s, when the house was appealing to women drawn to equestrian codes without the formality of Hermès. The Sulky motif and serif label are signatures of the period, reflecting Celine's Parisian identity under its founder.
