A smooth burgundy leather flap closes with a round gold-tone snap, the face marked by Cartier’s double-C logo embossed above a precise “les must de Cartier paris” plaque — the line’s signature detail. The silhouette is slim yet structured, built for crossbody wear via an adjustable leather strap that suits all wardrobes equally. Minor scuffing to the corners and faint surface scratches gather at the edges, leaving the gold-tone hardware bright and the structure well held.
The late 1980s saw Cartier’s Must line become a byword for accessible luxury — bordeaux calfskin, always with the gilt logo, as here. The gold-plaque branding and saturated burgundy leather place this piece firmly in that era, when a Must de Cartier accessory was a stepping stone to the jeweller’s counter on Rue de la Paix.
Inside, the bag is lined in matching burgundy fabric, fitted with a zipped compartment and two slip pockets for essentials. The original authenticity card is included.
