A square gold-tone clasp anchored by the double C Cartier insignia snaps shut at the point of an envelope flap, its surface set against deep burgundy leather polished to a quiet sheen. The chain strap, also in gold-tone, threads through plain corner fittings — a detail as suited to shoulder as to crossbody wear, equally at home on any wardrobe.
Smooth leather construction defines the silhouette, with a red fabric-lined interior offering a single zip pocket and slip compartment. The original dust bag is included. Light surface scratches and minor signs of use are visible on the leather, while the hardware remains bright; the chain strap is a later replacement and not original to Cartier.
This design belongs to Cartier’s Les Must era, c. late 1980s–early 1990s, when the house’s bordeaux calfskin and gilt double-C hardware became an everyday signature — luxury in instalments for a generation stepping up to the jeweller’s name. No interior label or serial is visible, but the construction and palette unmistakably mark it as a product of that moment.
