In 1953 Aldo Gucci designed the GG monogram using his father's initials. It appeared first on luggage. By 1974 it was photographed next to a Lamborghini Espada.
The GG Plus canvas came in the early 1970s — a denser weave, darker ground. The set matched. Everything matched.
How to date a GG piece: oval metal badge = pre-1980, rectangle after. 'Made in Italy' woven label = 1970s, printed = post-1985.
