gucci-22x32x14
Vintage Gucci Flora Canvas Bucket Bag Late 1970s Cream Multicolor

Florence, early 1980s: the studio tables were crowded with reams of canvas, each one printed with wild anemones and poppies in saturated pink, yellow and blue—Gucci’s Flora motif, originally commissioned for Princess Grace in 1966, reimagined for travel bags and easy carryalls. This vintage bucket bag captures that moment, the lush floral print set on a cream canvas body and edged with white leather trim. Gold-tone grommets and a snap closure secure the top, while wide floral canvas straps invite both handheld and shoulder carry.

Inside, a beige fabric lining defines a single spacious compartment, unadorned by pockets. The gold-tone hardware is free of visible logo engraving, true to the era. Minor discolouration and surface wear are present at select points, with the structure and print remaining intact. The original dust bag is included.

In the late 1970s and early 1980s, Gucci extended the Flora motif beyond scarves, bringing the vibrant pattern onto canvas bags as part of a broader push towards artful utility. The unmarked hardware and construction details place this piece squarely within the family-run era, before the arrival of overt logo placements and serialised labels.

Condition: Very Good — minor discolouration and wear to canvas and trim; structure and print intact
Material: Flora print canvas with white leather trim, gold-tone hardware
Colour: Cream canvas exterior with multicolour Flora print, white leather trim, gold-tone hardware, beige fabric lining
Dimensions: W 22 × H 32 × D 14 cm
Serial: 47102-3754
Made in: Italy

//cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0811/5866/8616/files/IMG-0320_7c2979a1-f904-4fee-9dd9-8bf6f9e92dc1.jpg?v=1791316538
